Our very own Art Director Jeanette Obbink will be showcasing her talent at The Artist Project in Toronto from Thursday, February 22nd to Sunday, February 25th. While it's not her first time in a show like this, it's only her second time at The Artist Project.
The Artist Project is a unique opportunity to explore and discover works of art from over 250 top contemporary artists. This is an exciting opportunity for vistors to meet and buy art directly from artists at Toronto's favourite art fair.
Jeanette says, "It's always exciting to attend an art expo like this. It's a lot fun for people visiting because they get an opportunity to meet the artist behind the work," she continues, "It's very different from a gallery where you don't often get to meet the artist, you get to hear what inspired their work straight from the creator."
Born and raised in Holland, Jeanette worked as a Delft Blue Pottery Painter for two years after finishing high school, then obtained her BA in arts and textile as well as a teaching degree. Two country moves later, having worked as a teacher and of course currently as our Art Director, she continues to find time for her art.
"When I paint, I aim to create a point of harmony and peace, a breathing space in our busy lives," she says of her art, "I paint what catches my attention, either a place that takes my breath away, or a place to catch my breath, and as expected, they often coincide."
